You will be able to communicate to others those things that are important to you relatively easily and with greater degree of sensitivity and compassion.  You may be drawn to some form of altruistic work or cause. Although this is a wonderful pursuit, the only downside to this energy is that you may be lulled into thinking that everything is going smoothly when in fact there are deeper issues that you need to work through.
Those of you born around the middle of the sign may be feeling tired and isolated. If this is the case it may be time to take a step back and relax as these feelings are often our body's way of letting us know we need some downtime. Alternatively you may be working hard and feel you're not achieving much. I call this swimming through treacle and if this is the case to take heart because the work you are doing will pay dividends in the not too distant future.
Those of you born towards the end of the sign may be feeling a strong desire to break free of any structures that no longer suit you and you will certainly need to watch your anxiety level and in particular your sensitive digestive system. If you approach change creatively and with an open mind you may be surprised at where this takes you.

The Year Ahead

In 2009, like your comic cousin Gemini, you need to be mindful of those times when your ruler Mercury (communication) goes backwards. Although it affects everyone it is more significant for you. These times coincide with communication being confused or misunderstood and you will not be thinking straight!  Put the dates in your planner! January 11 - 30, May 2 - 30, September 7 - 28, and December 24 - 15 Jan 2010. There are two areas you need to watch and pay attention too during these times. Children and or romance!  If you have children, you might find that tension and frustration will mount and come between you, particularly if you apply too much pressure to them. If they are of an appropriate age, they will not take kindly to having your ideas being imposed on them. Alternatively, they could just be very difficult, going through one of those stages. However I suggest avoid getting into power struggles with them as it will not serve any purpose in the long term.

You may also find yourself involved in the early phase of a very intense relationship.  If this is the case, be mindful of the use of power within the relationship, which frankly I would approach with caution, because even though you are likely to feel quite drawn to this person they may not be good for you as a long term partner. Conversely you may try to dominate or control the relationship. The lesson is about the constructive use of power!

Typically, Virgos are hard and industrious workers with a natural eye for detail. They are the zodiacs' natural perfectionists whose need for perfection can drive others mad at times. They have tremendous analytical abilities yet need to be acutely aware that to over analyse a situation can mean a loss of perspective and they often loose sight of the real issues.

They are happiest when they provide a service to others. They can create order where none exists, going about their work quietly and efficiently. Being pedantic and staying focused on one point may see them become narrow in their thinking and need to be aware of this.

The Virgoan constitution is more delicate than most and often the stress of striving for perfection can see them suffer intestinal problems. Over work will cause this sign to react physically and they quickly learn that in order to maintain their stamina they need to pace themselves and look after their bodies.

Mentally they are incisive and practical in their thinking pattens. They are not necessarily visionaries and very often, miss the bigger picture. When confronted with a problem they will instinctively break it down into small pieces analyse it and find solutions. They want to know why something is the way that it is. As a consequence they can be great researchers.

In relationships, as their symbolism, the virgin, suggests they can be shy and reticent in asserting themselves. Because of the need for perfection they may have unsatisfactory love lives or relationships in general because nobody measures up. There is a sensuality and gentleness that exists in most Virgos yet you'll need to dig a bit for them to share this very private side of their nature.
